WHATS HAPPENING:

Exploring tiny villages: Caprigliola

Not sure you guys know this. But my husband Frank a recently retired orthopedic hand surgeon, is a fabulous photographer. He’s been photographing most of his adult life. So with this in mind, we spend some of our time exploring the many medieval villages in Lungiana and taking pictures. This week we explored Caprigliola, a teeny tiny village near our house. We wandered the ancient town with Vivi our mini doxie in tow. There’s a beautiful tall tower at the edge to the walled village with a fortified stone wall, it’s quite impressive and spooky. A small art studio and one cafe. After wandering and photographing all the crunchy vignettes. We grabbed an aperitivo. It was delicious. Homemade focaccette and salumi and the most divine eggplant crostini with percorino. I encourage everyone to go off the beaten path and explore the less traveled villages and towns. My film crew recently headed to Garfagnana did a video for their YouTube channel. Have a look, it’s really fun and funny.

All About Annette YouTube Move to Italy : The largest renovation we have ever flimed

This week we visit my friend Karina, she’s Dutch and about renovate a rubble of a farm house. It’s a BIG BIG project. Located walking distance to Fivizzano this one is I think our best video to date. She’s a brave women taking on a monumental project. It is not for the faint of heart. She’s so stylish and I know that once finished this farmhouse is going to be spectacular. She has a vision. The view is amazing, she looks onto an olive grove. This is where she plans to put her swimming pool. I mean yes, please! She has a very unique space she’s inhabiting while over seeing the construction. Wait until you see this one it’s just beyond fantastic. I will take everyone back with me to see the progress this fall. This is going to take awhile , but Karina has done many mammoth projects in the past so she’s experienced and knows the score.
