WHATS HAPPENING:

We are back!

I am happy to say we are back in Italy. I always feel like our house misses us. It becomes more animated, more beautiful when we are living here. I know that sounds crazy. We will be starting on some fun new projects. Right now we are enjoying our new water well. Long showers and no longer dealing with water shortages, yes please. I will be writing all about our adventures this season, so enjoy this newsletter. First up I will be shooting new YouTube content with my amazing film crew in about a week. I will also start the arduous process of testing and writing recipes for my upcoming dessert cookbook. This will put my next novel on hold for a bit. But that’s okay, you know I love loads of projects. I will post a few recipes along my journey on this newsletter for you to try. Something sweet is coming your way. I will be posting about our first days back. Watch it in stories on instagram.

Artist in Residence Program Returns

Artist in Residence: I am really excited to announce that the Artist in Residence Program at La Fortezza is BACK! After many years we’ve decided to bring an artist to La Fortezza for the month of July. Melinda Beck will be showing on July 27th at her opening a collection inspired by her time with us. The opening will be our big summer bash. If you’re in the neighborhood July 27th let me know and come party with us. I am so thrilled to welcome Melinda. Melinda is the cover illustrator for two of my books, My Italian Guestbook, and The Killer Menu. She is super talented. Her collection will be for sale online and in person in July. Watch this space for news and updates.

This week on my YouTube channel. We are cooking in the kitchen with Chef Leo. We both love this menu, lemon garlic roasted chicken and herby potatoes. You can’t beat it. He teaches me how he makes an herb salt rub. You know it’s funny I would randomly find a jar of herb salt in the pantry. I never knew where it came from? Turns out Leo makes it all the time. Go figure, know I have the recipe, the sneaky little squirrel, he never tells me anything.
